This wheat beer is golden yellow in appearance and its aroma is of spices, bananas and orange. The palate is much of the same and full of carbonation with a strong yeast and bitter sugar aftertaste. The Weihenstephan Abbey has run its brewery continuously since 1040 AD, although its roots extend as far back as 768 AD.
